1st Yoga-Rainbow in Cirali, Turkey 1–7 may 2011

Dear friends! We succesfully finished our 1st Yoga-Rainbow Festival which took place at 1-7 of may 2011 in a very nice, eco-friendly and quiet place Chirali, Turkey, at the coast of Mediterranean Sea. 19 famous and very interesting yoga-teachers from Russia, Ukraine, India, Austria conducted a series of master-classes.

Each teacher conducted four classes, more than two hours each. It was a unique possibility to spend holidays in a wonderful place, to have rest, to practice yoga, to make the acquaintance with methods of teaching and with yogateachers of different schools and styles. In a light atmosphere of our festival it was easy to communicate and to share experience with like-minded people and famous teachers.

This meeting was made by yogis and for yogis. It was organized by yoga-teachers from Moscow – Mikhail Baranov and Ilya Zhuravlev. This festival is held with the information support of a new independent Yoga Magazine WildYogi.info – free online Magazine “for intelligent reader”.

Every evening in «Melissa» hotel Boris and Renee Georgiev were leading free kirtan (group singing indian mantras and bhajans with musical instruments)

7 may at 21-00: was kirtan, Festival closing programm, and Vedic yagya (traditional fire ceremony – with burning natural gas, coming from the rocks) on sacred Chimera mountain.

At the 1st Yoga-Rainbow Festival 1-7 of may 2011 were there 10 classes in English by guests of our Festival.

Madhavan Munusami (Karur, India)

Master classes:

Asanas, classical pranayamas and meditation in the Sivananda Yoga and Tamil siddhas traditions. Series of 4 master-classes.

Dr. Madhavan Munusamy belongs to the South-Indian branch of Swami Sivananda tradition of yoga. Yogacharya Madavan is Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery from Venkatramana Ayurvedic Medical College (Chennai); he also received a Post Graduate Diploma in Yoga Therapy from Vivekananda Yoga Anusandhana Samsthana in Bangalore and attended the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta ashram TTC and Advanced TTC courses. He was initiated by Swami Chidananda, a disciple of Swami Sivananda who currently runs Sivananda ashram in Rishikesh. While teaching, Dr. Madavan also follows Tirumandiram, the ancient sacred Tamil scripture. He was instructed in it by his father, who practises yoga and meditation throughout his life. Dr. Madavan’s Institute is registered by the Government of Tamil Nadu.

Yogacharya Madhavan is an expert in pranayama and yoga therapy, and his yoga students are frequent champions of International Yoga Festival run by Swami Gitananda ashram, Puducherry (Pondicherry).

Boris and Reni Georgiev (Vienna, Austria)

Boris Georgiev (Shambhudas) is native Bulgarian and lives in Vienna since 1991. He practises Yoga since 1980 and Ashtanga Yoga since 1996, inspired by Lino Miele. From 1998 to 2000 he practised with Michel Besnard in Vienna. 1999 certificate as a Sivananda Yoga teacher. Since September 2000 he’s the head of the Yoga center Ganesha and teaches Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga.

Acharya Anand Bihari (Badrinath, India)

Acharya Anand Bihari (Semalty) was born into a Gaur Brahmin family of Bharadwaja Gotra from Badrinath in Himalaya, descents from the great sage Bharadwaja Maharishi of Vedic Period. Since childhood he has been studying the Vedas at the Sampurnanand Sanskrit University in Varanasi and post graduated his mastery in Viakaran (Sanskrit Grammar) and Jyotish (Vedic Astrology) with the honorific title Acharya (a scholar who practice what he teaches) in 1999. From his grandfather Sri Pandit Gyandev Semalty who self was the Adviser and Astrologer of the Maharaja of Tehri- Gahrwal, he received deeper knowledge about Astrology and Palmistry. And his Father Sri Pandit Purushottam Dutt Semalty introduced him into Vedic Rituals and Tantra. The traditional and intense practice and realization of Yoga, Mudra and Meditation he achieved from Yogis in the Himalayas. He speaks fluent in Sanskrit, Hindi, English and German languages. Anand gives astrology consultations, Mantra-yoga classes, conducts Vedic rituals in India and Austria. With his wife Akasha Semalty he is founder of Vedic Valley yoga resort in North Goa.
